Visa, a world leader in digital payments, is making everyday purchases easier, safer, and more rewarding for Thai consumers with “Scan to Pay with Visa QR Credit”.

This innovative solution is enhanced to support more Thai consumers to pay as a result of the strong partnership with Thailand’s top financial institutions.

This collaboration involving AEON, Bangkok Bank, CardX, Kasikornbank, Krungsri Credit Card, Krungsri First Choice, KTC, Siam Commercial Bank, and TMB Thanachart Bank, enables millions of consumers across Thailand to enjoy seamless, secure, and rewarding into their daily lives.

This innovation enables Visa cardholders to scan a QR code at checkout and pay directly from their Visa credit card—no physical card required. There’s no need to download a new app; consumers can simply use the existing mobile banking app from their Visa card issuer.

By telling the cashier, “Pay with Visa QR Credit” or by spotting QR signage at participating merchants, they can enjoy a convenient, secure, and rewarding payment experience. Powered by Visa’s trusted security, this solution also supports Thailand’s shift towards a digital economy and helps position the country as the largest Visa QR acceptance network in Asia-Pacific.

According to the Visa Consumer Payment Attitudes Study, 51% of Thai consumers prefer QR code payments, making this service a direct and timely response to evolving consumer behavior.

With this solution, users enjoy not only the convenience of cashless payments but also the full benefits of traditional credit card usage—such as reward points, cashback, instalment options, and most importantly, robust security.

“We’re also focused on helping all types of businesses — from large retailers to small shops — accept this payment method. Over 50% of Visa’s merchant network nationwide already supports Scan to Pay with Visa QR Credit, and we’re working to grow that even further. This is a significant step towards a more inclusive, digital economy in Thailand.” Mr Punnamas added.
