Punthai Coffee Co, the operator of Punthai Coffee chain, announces its ambitious goal of exceeding 2 billion baht in revenue by the end of this year.

Pitak Ratchakitprakarn, president and chief executive officer of SET-listed PTG Energy Plc, a local oil trader, said that Punthai Coffee has introduced its latest product, "Punthai Drip Coffee," crafted by 10 distinguished coffee masters who are committed to environmental conservation. This initiative is encapsulated under the concept of "Dripple Effect " emphasizing a sustainable ecosystem that connects farmers to consumers.

Punthai is one of PTG's non-oil businesses. Punthai’s latest offerings include five varieties of 100% arabica coffee sourced from high-altitude regions and a range of specialty blends. The introduction of "Punthai Drip Coffee" features nine unique flavors from renowned coffee creators, showcasing diverse production processes that enhance each coffee's distinct characteristics.

Sukwasa Pooshutvanitshakul, managing director of Punthai Coffee, said that "PunThai Drip Coffee" collection draws inspiration from the shared commitment of these ten coffee creators to enrich forest ecosystems. Each variety in this collection highlights unique production processes that showcase the distinct characteristics of coffee sourced from different regions.

According to Euromonitor International, the Thai coffee market is valued at over 60 billion baht, with home coffee accounting for 33 billion baht and out-of-home coffee at 27 billion baht. Specialty coffee continues to grow at an average rate of 5-10% annually and represents approximately 11% of the total coffee market. The demand for high-quality coffee experiences has led Punthai to innovate continuously, developing products that cater to the preferences of a new generation of coffee drinkers.

The number of outlets has increased significantly, reaching 1,126 locations—a growth of nearly 49%. The company aims to expand to between 1,282 and 1,300 branches by the end of this year.

“PTG is committed to promoting the idea that ‘thinking about coffee should come last; thinking about forests should come first.’ Our mission is to enhance farmers' potential through coffee cultivation alongside forest conservation,” Mr Pitak said

In 2023, PTG collaborated with Greenovate, one of its subsidiary companies to support farmers in Pang Hin Fon subdistrict, Chiang Mai through The Sustainable Development and Promotion Project for Arabica Coffee Cultivation in Highland Areas which emphasizes coffee cultivation that harmonizes with forest ecosystems while rehabilitating deforested areas into lush coffee forests.

Since the project's inception, 24 farmers have participated, planting 68,000 coffee trees across over 200 rai. Currently, coffee cultivation has expanded to 1,400 rais with a total of 420,000 trees planted by over 400 farmers. The goal is to purchase 8,000 tons of raw coffee beans from more than 55,000 rai to generate income for over 10,000 households within 5 years.
