Bangchak Group reinforces its readiness as SAF production leader in partnership with Bangkok Aviation Fuel Services Plc (BAFS) and BAFS Pipeline Transportation Limited (BPT) to pioneer SAF delivery via pipeline to Suvanabhumi and Don Mueang International Airports.
Chaiwat Kovavisarach, Group CEO and president of Bangchak Corporation Plc, joined by Chakrasnit Kritsa-ardjai, BAFS’s senior executive vice president of accounting and finance, and Jesad Thupiya, BPT’s managing director, presided over the pilot initiative to deliver sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) into the pipeline system leading to Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang International Airports.
This initiative aims to prepare the aviation industry, both domestic and international airlines within the SAF alliance, to support the industry’s goal of achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, in alignment with standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

This collaboration involves blending SAF with jet fuel (Jet A1) and pioneering its delivery via pipeline to Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang International Airports. This pilot project serves to prepare the infrastructure to support SAF production and utilization, enhancing economic opportunities and establishing leadership in clean energy within Southeast Asia.
Bangchak has invested over 8.5 billion baht in developing SAF production from used cooking oil through its subsidiary, BSGF Co. The construction of the SAF production unit at Bangchak Refinery in Phra Khanong is progressing as planned, with production expected to commence in early Q2 of 2025, with a capacity of 1 million liters per day.
