SET-listed property and retail developer Central Pattana Plc has joined hands with Central Group and leading business partners to invest more than 1 billion baht to launch a grand sale campaign to boost the economy and tourism during the second and third quarter.

Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, CPN’s chief marketing officer said that CPN has teamed up with Central Group and Central Retail as well as other partners from the public and private sectors
to launch the “Greatest Grand Sale 2024” campaign as its greatest sale event of the year during June 7-July 31, 2024.
This grand sale campaign is envisioned to be ‘Thailand’s gateway for retail & mid -year sale’ to spur the economy and highlight Thailand as the best shopping destination in Asia.
It will create a big impact on attracting tourists from around the world to shop in the kingdom, helping boost spending and increasing the national consumption index in the second quarter.
“In the past, tourists throughout Asia have chosen Hong Kong and Singapore as their sales destination. With our networks both brands, product categories and outlets, our grand sales campaign has already become global and Asia’s sale destination for them,” Mr Nattakit said,.
He added that Thai tourism is likely to grow further in the second quarter as more tourists from Asia such as China, India and the Middle East such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates are visiting Thailand.
In this year’s sale event, shoppers both Thai and foreign tourists can enjoy shopping in Thailand, via shopping centers, department stores and online with discounts of up to 80% and 30% on new collections from 12,000 stores and more than 25,000 brands at over 365 events nationwide.
“We want to ensure that customers and tourists shop and get the best value during this period through an abundance of promotions and prizes. The total value of the promotions and prizes is more than 15 million baht as we're looking forward to welcoming 38 million tourists based on Tourism Authority of Thailand(TAT)’s target,” Piyawan Leelasompop, Central Retail Corporation (CRC) ‘s head of corporate marketing, said.
She adds that CRC will bring trogether 11 of its key businesses, covering over 1,200 stores, including Central Department Stores, Robinson Department Stores, Central Marketing Group, Supersports, Tops, Power Buy, OfficeMate, B2S, Tops Care, Tops Vita, and Pet & Me to offer special discount to consumers.
The event will feature over 18,000 leading brands, offering a diverse and unparalleled shopping experience for customers. Shoppers can expect discounts of up to 80% and The1 members will receive exclusive benefits, including a THB 150 discount for every 1,000 points redeemed.
Participating credit cardholders can earn cashback or gift vouchers of up to 20%. Customers can also collect receipts from Central Retail’s participating stores to enter a grand prize draw. The promotions will be available across Central Retail's comprehensive omnichannel platform, including both offline and online channels.
Central Retail is confident that The Greatest Grand Sale 2024 will be a major attraction to welcome the increasing number of international tourists.
As of the past quarter this year, the number of tourists has increased by 44% and they are expected to spend more in Thailand. The top 3 nationalities that spend the most at Central Retail stores are Russian, Chinese and Middle Eastern tourists. In addition to attracting international customers, Central Retail is also focused on stimulating domestic spending to drive sustainable growth for the Thai economy.
