SET-listed Praram 9 Hospital Plc (PR9) upgrades services and technology to become a digital hospital with a focus on patients from China and Arab countries.
Witthaya Wanpen, PR9's assistant director, said the hospital improves services and lays down the foundation to become a digital hospital. The improvement is an effort to emphasize service that patients are the center. Such a move will help boost Praram 9 Hospital’s growth by 13-14% this year.
“The hospital applies technology to facilitate medical care and renovate the new building and expand the operating room. Upgrading the quality of service to the international standard to meet demand both Thai and foreigners, especially patients from China and Arab countries. The hospital expected the upgrading will enhance the growth by 13-14% this year.” Mr Witthaya said.
He said in the first quarter this year, the number of inpatients and outpatients coming for treatment at the hospital showed the rising trend.
“After pandemic, we found that Thai people and people around the world are increasingly focuses to their health. There has been an increase in the number of patients coming in for consultation and treatment. Another group that we consider growing continuously that is the wellness group or people who want to take better care of their health,” Mr Witthaya said.
He said the hospital also has paid attention to holistic care for foreign patients. They are people from CLMV countries including Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam, to receive treatment for complex diseases at the hospital.
In addition, there are groups of Chinese patients which come to receive services ranging from treating minor diseases to major accidents.
The other group is a wellness group who intends to come to receive special treatment, called “medical tourism” such as infertility treatment centers or In-vitro Fertilization (IVF) surgery and plastic surgery.
Praram 9 Hospital has received more recognition from the Middle East and Arab patients. The trend of growth was quite clear last year. Revenue from foreign patients was recorded 15-16% last year, up from 13-14% of 2022.
Praram9 Hospital received the Digital Transformation Initiative of the Year award from the Healthcare Asia Awards 2024 in Singapore. It is a prestigious award given to healthcare providers in Asia.
