Makro and Lotus under CP Extra Plc, one of Asia's leading wholesale and retail businesses, plan to purchase more than 65 million kg of Thai fruit this year, worth a total of 2.9 billion baht, through more than 2,600 Makro and Lotus branches throughout Thailand, including online channels.

Supachai Chearavanont, chairman of the board of directors of CP Extra Plc, said, CP Extra is committed to supporting farmers and small entrepreneurs (SMEs) to have strength with an opportunity platform policy under the strategy of driving business along with sustainability In the fruit season every year.

The company therefore cooperates with the government sector and various agencies to be a channel for distributing products to consumers through all branches throughout Thailand, as well as online channels and export to foreign markets.

“It is considered an opportunity to expand Thai fruits to the world market. It is one of the important missions that CP Extra and CP Group committed to fulfill Thailand's ambitions of being the kitchen of the world,” Mr Supachai said.

This year, Makro-Lotus plans to purchase over 65 million kg of Thai fruit for the entire year, an increase of 21% from last year, along with a target to export more than 25 million kg of Thai fruit to meet the needs of both domestic and international markets. The activity will support the economy to expand and create sustainable income for farmers.
