Nakhon Sawan, previously known as a bypassed province from travelers going to provinces in the north, is changing significantly after ‘Central Nakhon Sawan’ under the arm of Thai billionaire family, Chirathivat, to open its latest shopping complex in Paknumpo in late of January this year.

Nakhon Sawan is not only becoming the hub of logistic, hub of culture or hub of culinary, but also the hub of health and medical. And the store opening will help add a strength to this province and boost its local economy.

Spanning on the 133,300 square metres, ‘’Central Nakhon Sawan’’ comprises of Escent condominium project with 19 floors and 442 residential units, 3-4 stars hotel and Synphaet hospital with an investment of 5.8 billion baht excluding Synphaet project. Currently, Central shopping complex has already opened and the residential project, hotel and hospital will completely provide their operations within the next three years.

“Nakhon Sawan is in CPN’s investment map for long time and we got this plot land in hands for more than five years,” Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, CPN’s chief marketing officer, said.

He adds that Nakhon Sawan is under the company’s investment map because it is a hidden gem with strong economic and tourism potential as an economic center that connects the central and northern regions in addition to future urbanization thanks to future mega infrastructure such as high-speed rail.

Nakhon Sawan's population, dominated by high-purchasing-power Multi-Generation Thai-Chinese families with an urban lifestyle, makes it a prime market. In 2021, the province ranked third in the northern region with a GPP exceeding 109 billion baht. Average household income aligns with our target audience at 21,000 baht per month. The shopping center's opening anticipates 25,000 daily footfalls, targeting a catchment area of over 1.57 million people across six provinces: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Phichit, Lopburi, and Kamphaeng Phet.

In addition, Nakhon Sawan is an important logistics hub and the province’s Chinese New Year Festival is the third largest in the country after Bangkok and Phuket.

“Central Pattana will elevate Nakhon Sawan as the new rising economic city in the upper central region aligns with the government's initiative to upgrade it among the top 10 second-tier provinces,” Mr Nattakit said

Central Group had expanded its retail business in second-tier for several years via the Central Retail and CPN.

Central Nakhon Sawan targets multi-generation families, with 65% being family & retiree, 21% kids & teenagers, and 14% first jobbers.
