EGCO Group opens EV charging station at headquarters to promote EV usage among employees and low carbon society development

In an effort to drive low-carbon society and encourage the use of electric vehicles among its employees, Electricity Generating Public Company Limited or EGCO Group recently opened EGCO EV Charging Station at its headquarters in Bangkok.

EGCO Group’s employees can charge their EVs at reasonable price. The opening ceremony was chaired by Mr. Thepparat Theppitak, EGCO Group’s president, with Mr. Nuttawut Piriyajitta, general manager of EGAT Diamond Services Co(EDS), and Mrs. Nissara Thammapala, acting as director-Innovative Energy Solutions Business Management Division, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), as witnesses.

Mr. Thepparat said the installation and opening of the EV charging station at our EGCO Tower will promote the use of clean energy and reduction of carbon emissions in the transport industry. This not only supports EGCO Group’s goal to achieve carbon neutral within 2040 and net zero by 2050, but also create positive impact on the society. The company hopes this will contribute partially to the country’s goal to achieve net zero by 2065.

The EV Charging station comprises six EV chargers – one fast charging equipment with 60 kw Flexx DC EV charger manufactured by EDS, and normal charging equipment with five 22 kw Wallbox AC EV chargers. EGAT was responsible for procurement and installation of the EV chargers as well as management of the EV charging station. Via EleXA application, users can charge, check charging status, and pay with convenience.
