Bangchak supports measures to address PM 2.5 pollution Issue
Bangchak Corporation Plc expressed their readiness to support efforts to combat the PM 2.5 particulate matter situation at a press conference on addressing the PM 2.5 situation in the Bangkok metropolitan area.
Gloyta Nathalang, executive vice president, Corporate Branding, Communication and Sustainability Activation, Bangchak Corporation Plc recently joined the press conference on “Measures Addressing PM 2.5 Situation in Bangkok” where Bangchak Group organized an exhibition to showcase its readiness to address PM 2.5 particle pollution with an offer of low-sulphur diesel, or Euro 5 standard equivalent, to resolve the problem of particle pollution from vehicles.
Bangchak pioneered the distribution of low-sulphur Euro 5 standard diesel in Thailand in late 2019, to alleviate PM 2.5 particle pollution. For this year, Bangchak will upgrade the quality of all diesel fuels distributed via the 224 Bangchak and Esso service stations in Bangkok (Bangchak service stations converted from Esso service stations).
The upgraded fuels will be low-sulphur diesel, or Euro 5 standard equivalent, which contains 5 times less sulphur (less than 10 ppm). Additionally, every liter of Bangchak’s premium products, including Bangchak Hi Premium 97 Premium Gasohol, and Bangchak Premium Diesel S, are Euro 5 standard environmentally friendly fuels.
The exhibition also showcased Winnonie, Bangchak Group’s e-bike service platform and battery swapping stations as another green innovation that helps reduce PM 2.5 particle pollution.
Distinguished participants, including Pol Gen Patcharawat Wongsuwon, deputy prime minister and minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Bangkok governor Chadchart Sittipunt, Mr Jatuporn Buruspat, permanent secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, along with executives of government agencies and various organizations, visited the exhibition and were welcomed by Gloyta and Bangchak Group executives.
