GPSC showcases 3 notable projects in YSI Return Home, creating new startups and feeding new innovations to the commercial market.

GPSC announced the 3 winning projects, which shall be promoted to become commercial products in the new startup market after having opened the stage of GPSC Young Social Innovator 2023 (YSI Return Home) with an intention to further extend the GPSC YSI innovative projects during the past 5 years.

The competition this year is intended to encourage the creation of new entrepreneurial economy, which is propelled by creative works focusing on the ultimate use of resources while fulfilling the needs of energy and friendly to the environment.

Mr. Jaruwat Singsomdee, senior vice president - subsidiary and investment management of Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited or GPSC, the innovative power flagship of PTT Group, revealed that this year the company has organized the “GPSC Young Social Innovator 2023 (YSI Return Home)” in the new format for the first time, which is based mainly on the idea to extend the qualified works of the participants in the GPSC Young Social Innovator (GPSC YSI) during the past 5 years. There are many projects in which the innovative inventions are so remarkable that they should be brought into commercial products and services in order to initiate the creative economy.

The objective of YSI Return Home is to offer an opportunity for the teams that were selected to take part in GPSC Young Social Innovator over the last 5 years.

In this competition, the 12 projects with the highest business potential had been selected out of the total 140 teams, and then their business plans along with the possibility in marketing and business development were presented for further judgement by the committees and representatives from the leading business organizations and the finance companies in the country.

All of the youth teams that are qualified for the final round also received a certificate as morale support and encouragement to develop their potential in the development of new inventions that are also beneficial to the enhancement of society and quality of life.

Mr. Jaruwat added that, as to the awareness of the significance on education development, the company has always been organizing the activities that can promote and support the youths with creativity in order that they are able to develop the innovative inventions that are beneficial to energy, natural resources, and environment in a sustainable manner.

Besides, this competition is considered an arena that can produce the new entrepreneurs, or startups, which are highly indispensable for the improvement of social quality and national development. Above all, the event is also aimed to strengthen the economy and turn it into the so-called entrepreneurial economy.
