Carlyn, a long-awaited bag brand from South Korea, has debuted its first pop-up boutique store on the ground floor of Siam Discovery this month.
Tiparat Promburi, deputy chief executive officer of Siam Piwat Retail Holding Co. (PRHG) said that the company has imported current popular Korean bag, Carlyn, and opened the first pop-up store on the ground floor of Siam Discovery during April 1-30. This move is after the shopping center has recently been the talk of the town throughout the retail world due to phenomenal popularity and successful pre-order sales of the Carlyn bag brand in Thailand.
‘’We offered pre-orders for this sought-after collection; in fact, all the products were sold out within 11 minutes,’’ she said.
Currently, there are 3 Carlyn shops in South Korea and Thailand as the world’s first pop-up store of Carlyn. Siam Piwat plans to open permanent Carlyn shop at Siam Discovery this year.
Mrs Tiparat said the retail market in Thailand is highly competitive, with many businesses offering similar products, making it hard to avoid price competition. At Siam Piwat, however, the company strive to stand out from the competition by offering products and experiences tailored to our target customers at reasonable prices.

Naphajira Vajraprapas, PRHG’s head of imported business, said the recent Valentine's Day saw Siam Discovery receiving a lot of attention due to its pre-ordering of the popular Carlyn bag brand, which is highly sought after by Thai shoppers and becomes a hot topic on social media.
At the 26 square metre Carlyn pop-up boutique store, there are over 40 bag items to choose with price range is set between 1800-5,000 baht. Customers who would like to buy Carlyn bags, have to wait for announcement of its pre-ordering due to limited production
Alicia Lee, the founder & creative director of Carlyn said that the CARLYN brand has been thrilled with the enthusiastic reception from Thai patrons of the brand. This is a great chance for the brand to collaborate with Siam Discovery.

She said that Carlyn bag has become so popular amongst Thai customers because it is unique, easy to use and is suitable for every people lifestyle.

She adds that Carlyn bag, came with bright and various colours. Currently, it has production capacity of 6,000 bags per day.
‘’We try to control our quality and try to seek special materials to produce our product that is difficult to copy,’’Ms Lee said.
Carlyn was launched in Korea for a decade. Initially, the products were used by women but now it is popular both women and men. It target customers are university student, first jobber, influencer and celebrities.
Now, new Carlyn bags have been released in a range of new colors, including Ivory, Black, Lime Neon, Spring Gray, and Cloud Blue for the Cozy (L) collection; Black, Gold, and Silver for the Cozy Glaze; and Pastel Lilac and Lime Neon for the Cozy collection.
