Pataya Food Group (PFG), the producer of Nautilus canned fish, has formed a joint venture with Thonglor Pet Hospital to market Remy brand pet food in Thai and international markets this year.
Remy Pet Co,. Ltd was set up in 2022 with registered capital of 4-5 million baht to market “Remy” pet food this year, with each holding a 50% stake. The joint venture will combine strength of the two companies. PFG has technical knowhow to produce both pet food and people‘s food for 30 years and 44 years respectively. While Thonglor Pet Hospital is in pet hospital for 29 years, therefore it knew that what should be the suitable food formular to fit with pet.
‘’Remy is in mass premium market. We believe that the trend of pet food will be in line with people’s food trend,’’ Sudatip Kiatsrichart, PFG executive director, said.
Ms Sudatip adds that Remy cat food products are produced at PFG’s factory. This new cat pet food is now sold at online channel and at all Thonglor Pet Hospital across the country. Total 12 pet food products both for cat and dog will be available in the market via all distribution channels by the end of this year.

Thailand’s cat pet food market is valued at 10 billion baht with 10% growth annually. Of the total, 60% belongs to kibble, 30% wet food and the remaining 10% belongs to snack. While dog pet food market is worth of 30 billion baht with 6% growth per year. Of the total, 60% is kibble and another 40% belongs to wet food and snack.
“Thailand’s pet food business continues to grow globally especially during the three-year pandemic due to people work from home,” Dr Kitika Chaisupattanakul, chief executive officer at Thonglor Pet Hospital said.
In addition to domestic market, the company will sell Remy products in Vietnam this year.
“It has opportunity for Vietnam because PFG has already expanded its business to Vietnam long time ago and has a representative office to support the expansion of our new pet food,’’ Ms Sudatip said.
Dr Kitiya adds that the company also opened the first Thonglor Pet Hospital in Ho Chi Minh by the end of last year via joint venture scheme.
Thitipong Jiraassawakul, vice president business development at PFG, said Malaysia, China, India and Indonesia are in business pipeline for the company’s expansion.
For Remy Pet, it aims to earn 500-600 million baht revenue over the next three years. PFG has sales of 8 billion baht in 2022. Of the total , 30% belongs to pet food business while 70% belongs to canned fish and OEM business.
