TAT joins AirAsia to unveil aircraft decorated in “Amazing New Chapters”  design.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has joined hands with Thai AirAsia to promote the “Amazing Thailand, Amazing New Chapters” concept by decorating an AirAsia aircraft with a design showcasing highlights of Thailand’s new travel dimensions.

The aircraft will be operating both domestically and internationally, especially in India and ASEAN markets, which offer key opportunities for the tourism sector.

TAT and AirAsia also affirm they will work together to drive tourism during this year’s high season through a variety of campaigns.

Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand said the TAT has been promoting and communicating its “Amazing Thailand, Amazing New Chapters” concept to stimulate recovery in the tourism industry and will be expanding its effort into 2023 with its “Visit Thailand Year 2022-2023: Amazing New Chapters” campaign.
Through the decorated aircraft, the TAT is seeking to elevate the value and identity of Thailand’s cultural art and mark its long-standing and much talked about partnership with AirAsia. The exterior of the airplane was designed with an emphasis on the new tourism experiences now ready in every region of the nation and boasts the “NFT” or Nature, Food and Thainess concept. Progressing into the cabin, the design becomes advertisements for “Amazing Thailand, Amazing New Chapters” that feature a cinematic feel, showcasing tourism products and services from all five regions of Thailand. Another aircraft is to be unveiled at the end of this year decorated using the “5F” concept to promote Thailand’s soft powers of Food, Festivals, Film, Fashion and Fights.

The TAT expects Thai tourism to continually revive in the fourth quarter of this year and to see the tourism industry return to 80 percent of its standing in 2019 by 2023, generating 1.73 trillion baht in revenue, consisting of 970 billion baht from foreign visitors and 760 billion baht from domestic circulation in a base case scenario.
In a best-case scenario, revenue is expected to reach 2.38 trillion baht with 1.5 trillion baht from foreign visitors and 880 billion baht from the domestic market.

Mr. Santisuk Klongchaiya, Chief Executive Officer of Thai AirAsia, explained that the “Amazing New Chapters” decorated aircraft symbolizes how Thailand’s tourism industry and aviation industry are recovering in earnest. Pointing out that the travel atmosphere has returned to vibrancy after Thailand’s opening, he stated both the Thai government and the carrier have been carrying out campaigns to stimulate travel. The decorated aircraft has been unveiled to publicize tourism throughout this year’s high season, presenting the new tourism dimensions available in Thailand to all potential tourists.

“AirAsia has resumed its entire domestic network, including regional connections, and is ready to continually bring back international routes. We have seen an excellent response in Indian and ASEAN markets and recently launched a direct flight to Fukuoka, Japan. AirAsia thanks the TAT for its support and continued trust, especially during the COVID-19 crisis and now during the recovery” Mr Santisuk said.
Marking the unveiling of AirAsia’s “Amazing New Chapters” decorated aircraft in partnership with TAT, Thai AirAsia is offering promotional fares across its domestic network, including regional connections, with discounts up to 30 %.
