KT OPTIC Co., Ltd., one of Thailand's leading optical retail chains, is holding its grand reopening of its new look at Fashion Island today.
With the eyewear market and consumer behavior changing, the company has transformed the KT OPTIC shop, located on the 2nd floor of the Fashion Island shopping center, into a one-stop vision & eyewear destination. The branch has been fully renovated and expanded to over 180 square meters, up from an earlier 125 square meters with almost 2,000 product items.

Chatchavan Vanidpisit, Managing Director of KT OPTIC Co., Ltd., one of Thailand's leading optical retail chains, said that KT OPTIC at Fashion Island now offers a full Vision & Style Lab experience, equipped with a complete suite of international-standard eye examination equipment. The new concept positions its Fashion Island branch as the destination for eye care and eyewear fashion, bringing together cutting-edge technology, precision, premium brands, and exclusive deals under one roof.
This caters to customers in Bangkok's east, an area with a dense and diverse population that also serves as a gateway to Thailand's eastern provinces.

With the new look, the company targets a monthly revenue of 2–3 million baht, up from an earlier 1.5 million baht, becoming top 5 ranked among its 140 branches.
“Thailand's eyewear market is expected to be worth 15-17 billion baht. The market doesn’t clearly show growth in demand this year. The situation is very tough right now. But we are still optimistic about the eyewear outlook in the future,” he said.
KT OPTIC's Fashion Island is the first branch to be transformed from a traditional eyewear store into a fully fledged "Vision & Eyewear Destination." More shops will be given makeovers in the future depending on branches and locations.

“KT OPTIC doesn't just curate quality eyewear for our customers; we also bring over 60 years of eye care expertise, delivering both fashion and eye health in one place. Beyond our curated eyewear selection, we offer everything from cutting-edge eye exams to Airdoc AI eye health screening exclusive to KT OPTIC backed by a team of opticians and eyewear stylists who help each customer find the perfect fit," Mr. Chatchavan said.
The transformation of the Fashion Island branch reflects KT OPTIC's commitment to delivering an eyewear experience that genuinely addresses each customer's eye health needs and lifestyle. The company expects KT OPTIC's total revenue to reach 850 million baht in 2026, up over 5% from the previous year.

He adds that while eyewear falls within the fashion and discretionary goods sector, the optical retail business continues to demonstrate strong growth potential, with competition shifting from simply "selling glasses" to "selling experience and eye care services."
The eyewear market in Thailand and globally continues to grow at no less than 5% per year, driven by several key factors, including the rising myopia rates driven by increased screen time on computers and smartphones. A growing elderly population also boosts demand for progressive and reading glasses.

In addition, eyewear is evolving into a fashion accessory, no longer purely a health product. It has growth in specialist lenses, including blue light-filtering lenses, myopia control lenses for children, and smart lenses. These factors are contributing to the market's sustained expansion.

“Competition today is more about 'service' than 'price.' In the past, it was largely driven by promotional deals. But consumer behavior has changed; people no longer choose based on price alone. They factor in design, credibility, expertise, and after-sales guarantees. From a strategic standpoint, eyewear is no longer just retail. It's becoming a health, lifestyle, and fashion business. The brands that thrive long-term won't be those offering the cheapest glasses. but to those who build trust in eye care while delivering an eyewear experience that truly matches each customer's personality and lifestyle," said Mr. Chatchavan.
